Color Gauntlet Wrestling 5K Color Run : |
Running : Run 3.1 Miles |
The first annual "Color Gauntlet" Wrestling 5K takes place on a scenic, point-to-point course on the Toonerville Trail along the Black River in Springfield, VT. This fun "color run," is a family-friendly untimed 5K run or walk. Participants will be splattered with colored cornstarch powder along the course. Once participants have finished the run, the shirts end up being a one-of-a-kind souvenir! Your pre-registration fee includes a "Color Gauntlet" Wrestling 5K t-shirt, sunglasses, and a bag of colored powder for the "powder party" at the finish line. Participants can enjoy food from the Silver Bullet Food Wagon and music from a local artist.
The 3.1 mile round trip trek is relatively flat, paved, and easily accessible by strollers and wheelchairs. We would recommend watching the weather to help determine approriate attire for the color walk/run. We strongly recommend sneakers and race attire that is comfortable, but keep in mind that some staining may occur even through the colored powder is made of cornstarch and food coloring paste.
Participants can begin arriving on race day, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 7:30 AM at the SRDC parking lot located at 290 Clinton Street Springfield, VT. All festivities conclude at 12 Noon.
Children 10 and under can participate free of charge. However sunglasses, t-shirts, and colored powder will need to be purchased seperately on the day of the race.
