We had such a great time in 2013, we are doing it one more time! Lots of fun and creative costumes! Runners will start from the Boylan Bridge Brew Pub at Boylan & Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh, run to the Wake County Jail on the corner of Salisbury & Davie, receive one handcuff, run to tir na nog for 1st beer (optional) run to Central Prison, receive 2nd handcuff, and run to the Boylan Bridge Brew Pub for 2nd beer.
Runners must have 1st handcuff to receive beer at tir na nog and the 2nd to get the beer at the Boylan Bridge Brew Pub.
This is not a timed race; it is an informal theme run. However all runners must arrive at the tir na nog by 2:30 (approx. 1.4 miles) and back at Boylan Bridge Brew Pub by 3:30pm. The roads are not closed and runners must run on the sidewalks or safely on the side of the street. There will not be any Law Enforcement assistance in crossing streets. Alcohol can only be consumed on the premises of the Pubs. Directions will be provided. Total Distance is approx. 3.4 miles
Price & Swag: For only $15, Runners receive a terrific race t-shirt, set of handcuffs, and 2 beers.
Check in: 1:30-1:50pm to pick up shirt & fun run bib Alarm sounds & prisoner escape starts promptly at 2pm
Benefiting: Proceeds donated to 2 RPD Team Members for their ride ( 5 days and 450 miles) during National Law Enforcement Week from Raleigh, NC to Washington DC to honor our Fallen Heroes
Must be 21 yrs old to register and have VALID ID at check in.
