2015 Trinity Bikes RAT Race (Redmond Area Triathlon):
Join us for the 7th annual Trinity Bikes R.A.T. (Redmond Area Triathlon) Race on Saturday, August 8, 2015 presented by Mark's Auto Body.
The Trinity Bikes Rat Race is an exciting multi-sport event showcasing the unique landscape of Redmond, Oregon. This is a pool-based sprint triathlon (with an optional duathlon) that is centered around Redmond's Cascade Swim Center. The race consists of a 500 meter swim, a 12 mile bike ride and a 5k run. Both individual and team competitors are welcome. The duathlon portion of the race will consist of the ride then run format. Also available is the Lil' Rat Kids Race.
The proceeds from this volunteer organized event will benefit Redmond Area Parks and Recreation Department (www.raprd.org).
Course Information:
Triathlon:
500m swim, 12 mile bike, 5k run (team option available)
5k run is an out and back run along the Dry Canyon paved pathway.
Duathlon:
12 mile bike, 5k run (team option available)
5k run is an out and back run along the Dry Canyon paved pathway.
Yo Wild Lil' RAT Kid's Race:
Racing starts around 11:15 (starts shortly after adult races end)
There are two distances for the Lil' Rat, short and long.
The Lil' RAT Kids race is for children 10 years and younger.
There is a $10 fee which will include a Lil' RAT T-shirt, finishers medal, bracelet and other goodies!
The focus of the event is participation and not competition. This un-timed event is a great way to introduce young children to triathlons and encourage physical activity.
The Lil' RAT includes:
Water obstacle course
1/4 mile bike (short) or 1 mile bike (long)
500' run (short) or 1/4 mile run (long)
Directions:
The RAT Race takes place at the Cascade Swim Center in Redmond, OR. Centrally located and easy to find, the Cascade Swim Center is located just north of Redmond High School off of HWY 126/Highland Ave.
