  • If you have been looking for a USAT event with a national championship feel, this is the race for you.
  • This race will utilize a multi-loop format on each leg allowing racers to know exactly where they are on the course at all times. It will also allow family and friends many more opportunities to see their racer!

  • The venue for this event is Verona, Wisconsin. Verona is just a few miles south of Madison.
  • In 2002, Verona gained national prominence in the triathlon community during the Ironman Wisconsin event. The enthusiasm of the community for triathlon is unequalled and will make for an unforgettable experience.

    COURSE INFORMATION

  • Swim: Both races will take place in a crystal clear quarry and wet suits will be allowed.
  • The Olympic distance race will be two loops with the swimmers exiting the water, crossing over a timing mat, and re-entering the water between the two loops

  • Bike: The sprint distance bike will be an out and back 11 mile race over hilly terrain.
  • The Olympic distance bike will include two loops in a very hilly and challenging terrain.
  • Much of the bike course will utilize portions of the Ironman Wisconsin course as well as the old USCF WI State Road Championship course.

  • Run: The Sprint run will be one loop with an out and back section over a slightly rolling terrain.
  • The Olympic distance 10K will be three loops over a slightly rolling terrain. Each loop features a steep short hill to get your attention.

    DIRECTIONS TO RACE
  • Verona is just a few miles south of Madison.
  • Event Parking: On race morning, please park at the two lots located on either side of The Carnes Company.
  • The Carnes Company is located at 448 S. Main St. in Verona.
  • The run course goes right by the the Carnes Company. Access to the race start and transition area can be made thru the gravel lot on the south side of the Carnes Company.

  • Race Course Directions
  • Sprint Distance Bike Course: Right on Bruce St., Left on Paoli St., go under overpass and then Right on Valley Rd. Left on Sugar Rver, Right on Riverside Rd., Left on Fritz Rd. When you get to Schaller Rd. you will see a median this is the turn around point for the short course. Go counterclock-wise around the median and retrace route back to transition.
  • Olympic Distance Bike Course: Same as Sprint Course above, however, when you get to Sprint Course turn-around, you continue on Fritz Rd. past Schaller Rd. and the median. Stay on Fritz Rd. to County Rd. A. Take a Left on Cty Rd. A. Continue to Observatory Hill Rd. and take a Left. Go to Paoli Rd and take a Left. (NOTE: immediately before Paoli Rd you will be going down a large hill. Observe caution) Stay on Paoli Rd. until Speedway Rd, go Right on Speedway to Schaller Rd. Go Left on SchallerRd. When you get to the Fritz Rd median, you will have completed the first of two laps. Go left on Fritz Rd. to Cty Rd. A. Go Left on Cty Rd. A to Observatory Hill Rd. Go Left on Observatory Hill Rd. to Paoli Rd. (Remember to be cautious on this big downhill) Go left on Paoli Rd. to Speedway Rd. Go Right on Speedway to Schaller Rd.. Go Left on Schaller Rd. When you get to the Fritz Rd median, you will have completed the 2nd of two loops. After the 2nd loop, go Right on Fritz Rd. Go to Riverside Rd. and go Right. Stay on Riverside Rd. to Sugar River. Go Left on Sugar River to Valley Rd. Go Right on Valley Rd. to Paoli St/Hwy 69. Go Left on Paoli St/Hwy 69, under overpass, to Bruce St. Go Right on Bruce St. and enter transition area.

  • Sprint Run Course: Leave transition and go left on Bruce St to Locust Dr. Go right on Locust Dr. and proceed approximately 1/4 mile to a turn-around cone. Continue on Locust Dr., now in opposite direction, to Main St./Hwy M. Go Left on Main St/Hwy M to Paoli St. Go Left on Paoli St. to Bruce St. Go Left on Bruce St to Firemans Park entrance and finish chute.
  • Olympic Distance Run Course: Leave transition and go left on Bruce St. to Locust Dr. Go Left on Locust Dr. to Main St/HwyM. Go Left on Main St/Hwy M to Paoli St. Go Left on Paoli St. to Bruce St. Go Left on Bruce St.into Firemans Park entrance. This is one lap. The Olympic Distance consists of 3 laps of this course. After completing the 3rd lap, runners will enter the finish chute.
