5K Run : |
Running : Run 3.1 Miles |
On Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 12:30 pm. Steve lost his left lower leg when he was hit broadside while riding his motorcycle in Parkersburg, WV. He was thrown from the bike into a grassy area. The quick thinking of citizens who witnessed the accident coupled with a speedy response from emergency service personnel went a long way to saving his life.
Prior to the accident Steve was a very active person; he ran 5K races and completed his Half-Marathon in August of 2014. He enjoyed hiking, is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys sharing these activities with friends, family and especially with his 8 grandchildren. He is not a person who allows life to just go by, he lives it to the fullest.
This 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser is to help cover the cost of a prosthesis that will allow for Steve to have moderate activity and be able to live his life to the fullest.
