Imagine lining up with other runners in the middle of the woods on a beautiful crisp morning with sun streaming through golden leaves in autumn. You enjoy the serenity of southern Virginia countryside as you push yourself to beat your personal best time. Two thirds of the way you come to the quaint town of Brodnax where the trail becomes paved and you’re reenergized by your smooth sailing all the way to the finish line where you’re handed a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider after you cross the line.
Course Information:
The Tobacco Heritage Trail is a rail-trail. The terrain is a flat, 8ft wide nature trail with a slight elevation. The first two thirds of the Golden Leaf 15K are a fine crushed stone surface, but the trail becomes pavement as it enters the towns of Brodnax and La Crosse.
Directions:
Take Exit 12-A from I-85 towards Emporia. Continue on US-58 E. Drive to N Main St in La Crosse.
