The Gaylord Gauntlet is a 5K Trail and Obstacle Run. Held entirely on the Gaylord Hospital campus which features 400 acrs of land in rural Wallingford. Profits will benefit the Gaylord Sports Association which exists solely on donations and is devoted to the athletic pursuits of adaptive athletes.
Course Information:
This 5K run is a blend of wooded trail and open field running through the beautiful Wallingford countryside. It features natural and man-made obstacles combining a need for upper and lower body strength, You will get dirty and wet, but mud is not the main feature. The course is designed to accomodate a wide range of ages and athletic conditions, but no one leaves feeling untested. 5 person teams are recommended. Waves go off every 15 minutes and racers have microchips in their bibs for timing. Prizes are awarded afterward tally of results for teams and individuals and a Festival Area features a DJ, live band, beer tent and several food trucks. Showers and changing area are provided.
