Trapp Cabin 5k : |
Running : Run 3.1 Miles |
Beginning and ending in the Trapp Family Lodge Meadow, the races wind through 800 vertical feet of idyllic forest, bubbling streams, and wild flowers. The races follow a dirt road briefly before merging with double track cross country trails. The 5K diverts at Old County Road and follows Russell Knoll back to the finish. The 10K continues on up to the cabin and returns on the new single track trails. The trails are not accessible to the general public so this is a special opportunity to run in a unique location.
This is the final race in the Stowe 2015 Trail Race Series. Award presentations will follow the race, with plenty of free refreshments, a race number raffle, and product prizes to the top 3 female and male runners in open and masters categories for both the Trapp Cabin 10K and the 5K. Free parking. Restrooms in the Nordic Center open to race participants. Bib pickup and day of registration begins at 8:30 am.
All proceeds from the Trail Race Series benefits Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports. Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports provides scholarships for individuals in Vermont living with disabilities to allow them to participate fully in sports and recreation, provides access to specialized adaptive equipment, and sponsors training for adaptive coaches.
