Kokopelli Kids Trail Series : Kids Race |
Running : Distance Determined by Age |
The Kokopelli Kids Trail Running Series is designed to introduce children pre-school through 8th grade to the sport of trail running in a fun, challenging and rewarding environment. Kids will learn how to run on the trails, they will learn to pace themselves and they will learn that running can be fun and rewarding. Running is no longer a form of punishment!
The Series will kick off with a clinic hosted by 1985 Boston Marathon Champion - Lisa Rainsberger. Lisa will go over training tips, nutritional ideas, pacing and the importance of quality running shoes. The Kick Off will take place at The Colorado Running Company Wednesday, May 6th at 6:00 pm. Discounts on running shoes and equipment will be offered. We will go over the details of the Series and kids will be encouraged to ask questions! This clinic is optional. Parents and/or kids who purchase running shoes at The Colorado Running Company on May 6th will receive a $5.00 discount off the Series cost.
Participants receive a newly designed hi-tech t shirt, finishers ribbon, refreshments, and at the series final participants will receive hot pizza and beverages sponsored by Old Chicago Pizzeria. Each event will be timed and race results will be posted on the event website http://www.kokopellikids.com/ following each event.
