The Rip Roar Kids Triathlon Series was formed to fill the emerging gap created in the wake of Hy-Vee IronKids discontinueation. Rip Roar was formed by the former Director of the Hy-Vee IronKids Series and will continue with the lively, exciting youth race that have put on throughout midwest markets during the past two years. With a focus on youth specific races Rip Roar holds the highest level of youth specific safety concerns, and course precautions while also creating an atmosphere to encourage youth involvement at all ages and skill levels. The races, while having a competitive element are in place to encourage youth to participate in the sport and have their best day ever.
Swimming in a sand bottom pool is a unique element we only find in Mankato on our series. Spotting bouys will hep athletes learn to swim in open water while the pool and nearby lifeguards offer the safety to help make the transition.
The bike course takes place entirely on closed roads and is close enough for spectators to see many points to encourage and count laps.
The run is wholly within the park and circles the beautiful lake and even includes a run out and back on the new bridge jetty. Finish line and transition are next to each other for spectators unable to travel far.
