Black Bear Aquatics (BBA) is a one-year-young USA Swimming club based in Orono, ME. BBA is excited to host the Jr. Bears Triathlon, a youth triathlon supporting healthy and active kids. The triathlon will be located at the University of Maine and will be professionally timed.
Don't delay! The first 100 athletes will receive a race t-shirt! All participants receive a race medal upon completion.
Awards for top three male/female finishers in both age groups (6-9; 10-14.)
**In order to participate in the Jr. Bears Triathlon, you must have a bike helmet and your own bike. No personal floatation devices allowed in the pool.**

A Triathlon for ages 6 - 14.
Age 6 - 9
• 50 yard swim
• 1.5 mile bike
• 0.5 mile run
Age 10 - 14
• 100 yard swim
• 2.5 mile bike
• 1 mile run
Course Description:
The swim portion of the triathlon is in Wallace Pool, a 25-yard, 8 lane indoor pool. There will be two participants per lane per heat. The bike course will be on paved roads, and athletes will run on a paved paths circling the university quad, known as the University Mall.
It is a very centralized course, allowing parents to view their athletes in the pool, during the bike transition, and during the entire run.
