Regensburg is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Germany. In 2016 the city will host the inagural Challenge-Regensburg. The UNESCO World Heritage city will offer long distance triathletes from around the world a spectacular stage: Swimming in the recreational area Guggenberger Lake, cycling through the impressive landscape of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, and a marathon along the Danube and historic monuments located in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Regensburg. A unique and chilling atmosphere is guaranteed as thousands of spectators cheer on hundreds of athletes running through the majestic Cathedral Square in the vibrant Old Town of Regensburg across the finish.
Swim (3.8km): Guggenberger Lake. Situated approximately 12 miles outside of Regensburg, a popular recreational area.
Bike (180km): Two laps through the Bavarian Forest Nature Park. At 1,500 meters above sea level, a studded, varied course will provide athletes overwhelming views.
Run (42.2km): Four loops along the Danube and through historic streets before they run across the finish in the shadow of the dome of St. Peter.
