The 4th annual Hy Noon Kiwanis Storm the Lake Triathlon is a charity event for Kiwanis International Eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. Your registration fee will be given to the "Eliminate" fundraiser. Join other athletes at beautiful Storm Lake, IA King's Pointe Waterpark and Resort. Swim in the protected bay, bike around the lake and run along the lake finishing at the flower lined path. All transition areas are at the waterpark. This course is considered one of the most beautiful venues for a triathlon.
The route takes you in a 1/2 mile swimming loop in the bay at the beach, from there jump on your bike and ride east along the lake on very gentle hills, then turn back along the west end of the lake with yelllow vested Kiwanians directing you all the way. Return to the transition area and begin the 5K run east along the lake, make a turn and return to the finishing chute along the brightly flowered path.
Storm Lake is located on Highway 71, 70 miles east of Sioux City, IA; 120 miles northeast of Omaha; 130 miles southeast of Sioux Falls, SD; 157 miles northwest of Des Moines and 237 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
The event is at Awaysis Park at King's Pointe Resort and Waterpark, 1520 E. Lakeshore Dr, which is on the east side of the lake on business highway 71.
