iCare will hold their second annual Color Fun Run on Saturday, May 2.   Register by April 23 to reserve your T-Shirt and color packet!  You can still participate after that date, but iCare did run out of T-Shirts and color packets for some who didn’t register in advance, so please register early.  The event is open to all ages.  Kids under 5 are free but will not receive T-Shirts or color packets.

Run/walk begins at Whitford Park, goes to Rochester on the bike trail, and back on River Road.  Sign in and on-site registration begins at 7:30 AM.    Run begins at 9 AM.  Awards will be given out at 10:30 AM.  An area youth group will have breakfast for sale.  Booths displaying helpful local resources will be set up in Whitford Park.

In 2013, iCare was started when the founder, Cindy Schweitzer from Integrity Funeral Services, wanted to find a way to stop the need to bury teenagers due to local suicides.  iCare held training sessions on the devastation caused by suicide, and prevention training. 

Last year’s Color Fun Run promoted the awareness of heroin addictions in our small towns and allowed us to purchase the materials to start a teen addiction program to deal with hurts, habits, and hangups.   This year, iCare will again focus on our local heroin problem, and continue to use funds to provide programs and promote awareness to help get the heroin problem under control and further iCare’s mission.

iCare realizes that all families suffer the pain and confusion of life, be it from deaths, addictions, unplanned pregnancy, or divorce, and need help with marriage, child raising, elderly care, accident prevention, depression and loneliness.  iCare’s mission is to educate and provide resources to help.
