The 2015 CASA SuperHero 5K Run/Walk will be the second annual for the Kansas City area. By combining the efforts of Jackson County CASA and CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties, we have created a fun atmosphere with a 5K run/walk, kids-caped fun run, family-friendly activities, vendors, costume contests and much more.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to empower abused children and give them a chance for a brighter future. CASA advocates speak within the court system on behalf of children who have been abused and neglected. CASA volunteers are powerful, effective and caring individuals. They play a crucial role in a child’s life by monitoring their case and reporting findings to the court. This helps to ensure better, more informed decisions are made regarding the life of a child.
