The Kickapoo Rail Trail Duathlon will be held at the beautiful Kickapoo State Park near Danville, IL on Saturday August 1st, 2015. All proceeds will benefit the ongoing development of the new rail to trail biking/pedestrian path that extends from Kickapoo State Park to Urbana, IL. The competitive race begins with a 5K run on the cross country course (3 loops), followed by a 30-mile bike ride which concludes with a challenging hilly loop inside Kickapoo Park, and finishes with a second 5K run. A non-competitive race starts 30 minutes later and consists of a single 5K run/walk followed by a 19-mile bike ride. Two-person relay teams may sign up for the non-competitive event. Both the 30 and 19 mile bike routes offer an aid station at mile 10 and SAG service will be provided.
