2015 Camp Courageous Sprint Triathlon:
Camp Courageous will be hosting the 6th Annual Camp Courageous Sprint Triathlon Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at 9am.
Camp Courageous is a year-round respite care and recreational facility for individuals of all ages with disabilities. The camp is not-for-profit organization. This event is USAT Sanctioned and is part of the Heart of America Series sponsored by JMS Racing.
One we are particularly excited about is a team already registered for 2015 that will be tough to beat. None other than Cedar Rapids own dynamic “Survivor” duo of Denise Stapley, winner of “Survivor:Philippines” and Sara Lacina, “Survivor: Cagayan” contestant are teaming up with Z 102.9’s Scott Schulte, who has developed into quite an accomplished runner. Known as “Scott and the Survivors” this looks to be the team to beat for 2015. As you know Survivor contestants and radio personalities are tough as nails and never say die. Does your team have what it takes to best this amazing combo? Teams have always been a fun part of triathlons but I’d have to say 2015 may be the year of “Team Seriousness” as I know many of you will relish this challenge.
Course Information:
When and Where will the Camp Courageous Sprint Triathlon be held?
This year’s event will start at 9:00 AM on Sunday, August 2, 2015. The event will be held entirely at Central Park.
What are the distances for each segment of the triathlon?
SWIM-500 yards – will be held at Central Park, located near Amber, Iowa. Distance will be 500 yards.
BIKE-15.5 miles – the course will be an out-and-back course from Central Park and returns to the park.
RUN-5K – the run will be a 5K route that will be around the lake at Central Park.

Heading north on Highway 151 out of Cedar Rapids turn right (east) on E23 County Home Road just past Anamosa and J&P Cycles.
After 3.7 miles, turn right (south) on Amber Road X44.
Go 1.1 miles and then turn left (east) on Coubty Road 49/E29.
After 2.1 miles, turn left on Central Park Road.
Park is .6 miles from turn.
Look to your left.
