The XTERRA Tennessee Trail Running Series is coming to Knoxville, TN. This race will be the third or four races in the series.
Only two-miles from downtown, Knoxville's Urban Wilderness presents a unique urban playground for mountain bikers and trail runners alike. The newly completed project, championed by Legacy Parks Foundation, provides the perfect setting for XTERRA Knoxville with many miles of natural surface trails connecting five parks along with public and private lands.
The half marathon will explore some of the best single track trails that Knoxville has to offer. Winding through the Urban Wilderness, runners will get plenty of rocks, roots, and climbing to test their grit. This singe loop course will take you through the old quarries and hills of East Tennessee with a perfect blend of neighborhood backyard feel. The half marathon will take runners through all 5 parks and natural areas, while the 4 mile trail run highlights the wooded forests of South Knoxville ending with a punishing climb around Mead's Quarry.
XTERRA Knoxville Trail Races are part of the XTERRA Tennessee Trail Series. Runners will only receive series points for the half marathon race.
