Ross Twp. Park is the site of one of the original OLY distance events in Michigan. It went away for a while but we brought it back starting with the Sprint, and then adding the OLY distances.
Gull Lake is an incredible race venue. The OLY swim runs parallel to the shore past the MSU Biological Station in water depths averaging 15-25 feet. The Sprint swim is a large rectangle out and a bit north of the park waterfront. You may never swim in another lake like this.
The OLY bike is the original bike course with challenging back side rollers and lots of fast flat stretches. The Sprint bike is all flat and all fast. The run courses are different and go north along the lakeshore with nice spreads of shade. There are a couple moderate hills on the OLY and minimal grade changes on the Sprint course.
Tech shirts, awesome volunteer support and a catered post race. With the 7:45 start time you are done before things warm up too much.
Note: Parking is free and about 1/4 mile away. Arrive early.
