The 10th annual Fall Backyard Burn is a series of 5 and 10 mile trail running races held on some of the best trail networks in the Northern Virginia Area. All the courses include a mixture of forested fire roads, twisty hiking trails, several stream crossings, grassy fields, and minimal pavement.
The Spring and Fall Series are both independent of each other. A point system adding competitor's six-race point totals will be used to determine the top finishers within each age group of the series.
These races have SOLD OUT for the past several years, usually weeks or months before race day. So, REGISTER EARLY to save money and guarantee your spot in the race.

Riverbend is a new addition to the Fall BYB series and this course is sweet! The park lies adjacent to the Potomac River and just west of Great Falls National Park. The course includes incredible riverside single-track, challenging hills, and amazing views. We are so excited about this new venue and are sure it will be a huge hit.

From Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway):
- From 1495, take the VA-193 / Georgetown Pike exit, EXIT 44, toward Great Falls, VA.
- Travel west on VA-193 / Georgetown Pike for approx. 4.6 miles
- Turn right onto River Bend Rd.
- Travel 2.2 miles on River Bend Rd. to a slight right onto Jeffery Rd.
- Travel on Jeffrey Rd for .8 miles to 1st right onto Potomac Hills St.
- Enter Riverbend Park and follow the signs to race parking and check-in.
From points West (Leesburg, VA):
- From points west (Leesburg, VA), take Rt 7 east on VA-193 / Georgetown Pike
- Travel 3.1 miles on Georgetown Pike to left onto Walker Rd.
- Travel .7 mile on Walker Rd to right onto Arnon Chapel Rd.
- Travel 1.5 miles on Arnon Chapen Rd. to left onto River Bend Rd.
- Travel .1 mile on River Bend Rd. to a slight right onto Jeffrey Rd.
- Travel on Jeffrey Rd for .8 miles to 1st right onto Potomac Hills St.
- Enter Riverbend Park and follow the signs to race parking and check-in.
