    EXCITING CHANGES FOR 2011

  • New Transition Area: The new transition area is bigger and gives us plenty of room to accommodate the athletes we have had to turn away over the last three years because of space limitations. The popular bike course will remain essentially the same and we have added two beautiful new trail runs with spectacular desert views.
  • New Athlete & Spectator Parking The parking lot will be right across the road from the new transition area just after you enter the park.
  • New for 2011 - Off-Road/Mountain Bike Duathlon We are really stoked to introduce a new off-road/mountain bike option in 2011. Mountain bikers will use the same run courses as the regular duathlon, but will have the option of racing in the road bike duathlon or opt for a fun, yet challenging, mountain bike course inside the park. The mountain bike course utilizes the great competitive track facility at McDowell Mountain Regional Park and will take place at the same day and time as the regular duathlon.
  • New for 2011 - Kids Fun Run A new 1-mile fun run will replace the kids duathlon in 2011 and take place during the adult race making the entire event a family affair. Kids will compete for medals and every kid that races will receive an official race t-shirt. Entry fees for the kids race start as low as $10.
  • New Packet Pickup Locations Saturday packet pickup for 2011 will be conveniently located at the La Quinta hotel on E. Shea Blvd. just of the 101 Freeway. We will also offer an East Valley packet pickup location on Thursday and Friday evening.
