2015 Sebago Lake Triathlon:

• The Segago Lake Triathlon is a fun, adult triathlon that takes place at Point Sebago Resort each June.
• With a beach, playground, and snack bar at the venue, the Sebago Lake Triathlon is a great event for the whole family.

Course Information:



Transition Area:
• There will be one Transition Area, located in Lot C, adjacent to the beach.
• The transition area will open at 6:00am on race morning and will be closed approximately 15 minutes before the start of the first wave.
• Only volunteers, staff, and registered athletes are allowed into the Transition Area at any time.
• You must be bodymarked before entering Transition (relays included), and have a safe, approved helmet and will have their bikes inspected for USAT compliance.
• Once you complete the race, you will not be allowed back into the Transition Area until all of the cyclists are back, or the bike time cutoff is reached.

Sprint Swim:
• 1/3 mile triangular course in beautiful Sebago Lake.
• Average water temperature is in the mid 60s at that time of the year.
• There will even be a pirate ship on the course!

Sprint Bike:
• 14 mile lollipop course with varied terrain, including two climbs, on low traffic country roads.
• Enjoy views of Mount Washington and Sebago Lake.
• There are no aid stations, but there will be lead and sweep vehicles.
• All athletes must be off the course by 10:45am.
• If you are not finished with the bike leg by that time, you will be picked up by a sweep vehicle and returned to the transition area.
• You will be allowed to finish the rest of the race, but your time will be considered unofficial and you will not be eligible for awards.

Sprint Run:
• 3 mile course through the resort, slightly uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back.
• There will be aid stations approximately every 1 mile.

Finish:
• The Pirate Tri finishes along the waterfront, between the lake and the lagoon.
• It is a short walk from the transition area and provides spectacular views of Sebago.
• There is a large tent set up for the post-race festivities, which will take place regardless of the weather.

Directions:



The Pirate Tri at Point Sebago Resort is easy to get to. Only 2.5 hours north of Boston (Exit 48 off the Maine Turnpike and just 22 miles on Route 302). Conveniently located between Portland, ME and North Conway, NH.

Point Sebago is located in Casco on Route 302.

From the South
Take Route I-95 North and cross into Maine from New Hampshire. At the York Toll Plaza I-95 turns into the Maine Turnpike. Continue north on the Maine Turnpike until Exit 48. Take Exit 48, the Portland/Westbrook exit. Go right immediately after the tollbooth and then proceed straight 1.5 miles to the third set of traffic lights. Turn left onto Route 302 West, it is 20.5 miles to Point Sebago. The entrance to Point Sebago is on the left marked by a small white church on the corner. There is also a small blue and white highway sign on the right Point Sebago Registration. Turn left onto the Point Sebago entrance road (1 mile). You will see the office on the right hand side and the colorful Point Sebago Resort sign. There is another entrance to our golf course 1/4 of a mile past the first entrance on Rte 302. If you get to this second entrance (with a huge Point Sebago sign), simply turn around and look for the church on your right hand side.

From the North - Exit 63
Route I-95 South (Maine Turnpike) to Exit 63. Take Exit 63, the Gray exit. Go left immediately after the tollbooth on to Route 202/4/115. Go about 4 miles and bear right onto Route 115 into North Windham. At a traffic Light go right onto Route 302. You have entered Route 302 past the construction section and It is about 10 miles to Point Sebago. The entrance to Point Sebago is on the left marked by a small white church on the corner. There is also a small blue and white highway sign on the right Point Sebago Registration. Turn left onto the Point Sebago entrance road (1 mile). You will see the office on the right hand side and the colorful Point Sebago Resort sign. There is another entrance to our golf course 14 of a mile past the first entrance on Rte 302. If you get to this second entrance (with a huge Point Sebago sign), simply turn around and look for the church on your right hand side.

Alternate Route From the South - Exit 47
This route is tricky and a narrow road most of the way. It is NOT recommended for Motorhomes or cars pulling any trailers. Exit 47. Go left at the end of the Exit onto Rt 25 East for .5 miles. At the first light go right. Go .5 miles and left at the light onto Main Street. Go 1 mile and look for the overhead sign directing you to "WINDHAM" by going straight (staying right). You know you are on the right route when you pass the large Sappi Plant. Continue 6 miles and you will come to a traffic light at Route 202 & 4. Go straight across this intersection following signs for North Windham. At the 12 mile mark you will come to a traffic light by a Mobil Station. This is Route 302. Go Left at the light on to Rt 302. Our left hand turn is about 10 miles on Rt 302.

From North Conway, NH
Take 302 East. You will see the giant Point Sebago Sign. This is the entrance to our golf course - if you are coming to golf turn here. If you are coming to check in to the resort, go 1/4 mile past the golf course entrance and turn right.
