On Sunday, August 30th, 2015, triathletes from around North America will find out what it takes to be a Superior Man! The fourth edition of the Superior Man Triathlon will challenge even the heartiest of endurance athletes as they “Escape from the Vista Fleet” into the Bay of Lake Superior.
A jump start off of a cruise ship and a transition area inside an arena are just a part of what makes this event unique. The Superior Man delivers a big-race feel with a signature Duluth flavor!
The 2015 Superior Man Triathlon features two distances to choose from: long course triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run) and 41.5 triathlon (.5 mile swim, 35.4 mile bike, 5.6 mile run). The swim starts with boat jump from the Vista Fleet into the Bay of Lake Superior and goes in a rectangular direction. After transitioning inside the DECC Arena, athletes will enjoy fast bike and run courses along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior. The finish area under the arches of Bayfront Park is set against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Superior and Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge. An ideal setting for our finisher’s celebration.
Course Information:
The Superior Man Triathlon will be held in Duluth, MN on August 30th, 2015. There are two race distances to choose from: long course triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run) and 41.5 triathlon (.5 mile swim, 35.4 mile bike, 5.6 mile run)
The fourth annual Superior Man Triathlon features a jump start from the Vista Fleet cruise ship followed by a rectangular fashioned swim from the Vista Fleet to Bayfront Festival Park.
Athletes then embark on a fast bike ride along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior, followed up by and a scenic run that mostly follows the Duluth Lakewalk.
The transition area inside the DECC Arena and finish line under the arches of Bayfront Festival Park are just feet apart, set against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Superior and Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge.
