Want to get the whole family involved in an awesome activity off the beaten path? Parents will team up with one to two family members age 5 to 16 and follow the provided map via canoe, bike and foot to a variety of checkpoints. Teams will have 3 hours to find as many checkpoints as possible. Each checkpoint and challenge will be given different point values, so strategy is vital. The highest point accumulation in the shortest amount of time will determine ranking.
Downriver Canoe Company, Bentonville, VA
From Northern Virginia, take I-66 West to exit 13 (Linden). Turn left off the ramp. Go one block to a stoplight where you'll take a right onto Rt. 55 West. At the fifth stoplight, turn left onto 340 South. Drive eight miles; the park's entrance is on the right.

Race Ends: Sunday, April 19th, 2015 12:30PM
Categories: Two-person teams and three-person teams (At least one team member must be under 16 years old and one team member must be over 18 years old)
Awards: Awards will go three deep
Prizes: Everyone gets a medal
Fees:
Super early registration is $30.00 per team member until November 30st, 2014
Early registration is $40 per team member until December 31st, 2014
Regular registration is $50 per team member until February 28th, 2015
Late registration is $60 per team member until close
Included: Maps, race shirts, canoes, paddles, PFDs, post-race celebration and meal, one of the best adventures of your life

Distance: 6-10 miles
Disciplines: Trekking, orienteering, canoe paddling, team challenge and mountain biking.
Checkpoints: Mandatory and bonus
Supplied Gear: Canoes, paddles, PFDs, race maps, race passport, & list of rules
Mandatory Gear: All mandatory gear is required to ensure racers have the proper equipment to safely complete the course.
All times during the race must have on their person the following equipment:
Hydration system (Camelbak or equivalent, water bottle)
Whistle
While biking each racer must also have:
Mountain bike or hybrid
Helmet (CPSC, ANSI, or SNELL certified)
Recommended Gear:
Sunglasses, Sunblock, Bug spray
Waterproof map case
Map bag for race map and passport (gallon zip-lock bag works well)
Rain jacket
Post-race change of clothes
Mandatory gear is considered the minimal amount of equipment needed.
