The marathon is in Toledo, Ohio but why is it called the Glass City Marathon? Our event gets its name from the City of Toledos nickname, the Glass City.
Toledo took this nickname on because of its long history and influential role in the American glass industry.
Youll get a glass mug when you cross the finish line. That mug is made by Libbey Glass. Where is Libbey Glass headquartered? Toledo, Ohio. Likewise glass industry giants like Owens-Illinois, Owens Corning, Pilkington North America (formerly LibbeyOwens Ford), and Therma-Tru are based in Toledo and have long been central to Toledo's economy.
Your race experience begins at the Expo located in Savage Hall Arena on the campus of the University of Toledo. Pick up your race number, chip, T-shirt and goodie bag while browsing the many exhibitors.
Field limited to 7,000 runners with the following individual event numbers:
Marathon -- 1,500 Runners
Half Marathon -- 2,500 Runners
5 Person Marathon Relay -- 300 teams/1,500 Runners
5K -- 1,500 Runners/Walkers
