2015 The TRI for FUN #3 Triathlon & Duathlon with NEW Super Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon:

The Original TRI FOR FUN Triathlon is in its 32nd year, and is adding a NEW Super Sprint distance Triathlon and Duathlon in 2015. All athletes racing will receive a TRI for FUN custom tech-tee race shirt, division awards, post race hot food, athletes goody bag and raffle prizes. The NEW Super Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon will start at 8 am. The TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon will start at 8:30 am.

Entry into Rancho Seco Park will be closed from 8 am to 8:30 am due to Super Sprint event bike course closure. Vehicles can park and walk in approximately one mile or wait until the road opens at 8: 20-8:30 am.

TRI Clubs: If you are a member of a Triathlon Club that has 10 or more athletes racing with TBF Racing we can provide Reserved bike racks in the transition area for your club, have your club set up a tent in the expo/athlete area, and hang your banners at the event. To take advantage of this program, TRI Clubs must send the list of 10 or more pre-registered athletes to [email protected] 7-10 days prior to the race.

Course Information:

TRI for FUN/DU for FUN Course Description

Swim - The race starts from the beach in with a .5 mile swim from the beach area. The swim course will be a triangular course in Rancho Seco Lake marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be approximately 70 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach and on a grassy path to the transition area located in the parking area.

Bike - The bike course is 16-miles. You will exit the transition area and then mount your bike. From there you will exit the park and make a right hand turn on Hwy 104, making a U-turn at the turn around point and returning to the park. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

Run - The run course begins directly outside the transition area and is a 3 mile out-and-back course on fire roads and trails within the park. There will be two aid stations with water and electrolyte beverage, plus energy gels on the run course. One at the start of the run, and one at the turn-around point on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Super Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon Course Description

Swim - The race starts from the beach in with a 200 yard swim bordering the beach The Swim Course will be marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be approximately 70 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach and on a grassy path to the transition area located in the parking area.

Bike - The bike course will be a four-mile course on the roads inside the park at Rancho Seco. The course will be closed to traffic and monitored for safety. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

Run - The run course will be a one-mile course around sections of the lake on grass and trails. There will be an aid station at the start and half way on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Directions:


Rancho Seco Park is the site of many of the TBF Racing summer events.  The park features plenty of camping and the lake's summertime water temperature is in the 70s.
