2015 Run for the Whales Half Marathon, 10K & 5K:
• The Run & Walk for the Whales begins and ends at the Ma’alaea Harbor Shops.
• The easy-to-follow courses are mostly flat and fast, good news for runners seeking to PR -- and -- you might even see a whale or two breaching in the distance!
• The post-race festivities take place in the plaza at the Ma'alaea Harbor Shops and include live entertainment by Marty Dread; a post-race continental breakfast for runners and walkers; tours of Pacific Whale Foundation’s research lab, education center and offices; discounted whalewatches for race participants; and special discounts at our retail store and restaurant, Porto.
Course Information:
Course is moderate, loop from start at Makena Beach and Golf Resort north toward Wailea.
Sloping hill at Makena Landing for all and Fairmont Kea Lani for 1/2 marathon only.
Some unimproved shoulder areas on Makena Rd. south of Makena Resort.
