The 5K run’s scenic race route takes you down the Grand Concourse, around the livestock barns and through the hills of the Campgrounds. The 5K is intended more for runners and joggers - walkers are encouraged to enter the One Mile Walk. After the race, enjoy a corndog, beer and a Fair Square - all while raising funds to help preserve and improve the Iowa State Fairgrounds!
Whether you're training for another race event or just want to see the Fairgrounds from a different perspective, the Fairgrounds 5K is a great opportunity to lace up your running shoes!

Directions:
Parking
Please plan on parking in the Midway on race day. For best access, turn off of University Avenue into the Fairgrounds at East 33rd St. and go south. There will be a sign directing traffic into the Midway.
Other Info:
Packet pick-up for all events will be Friday, October 31, from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Blue Ribbon Foundation office on the Fairgrounds or Sunday, November 2, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. underneath the Grandstand on the Fairgrounds. Packets will not be mailed.
5K Run Awards
Awards will be given for the top three male/female winners for each division of the 5K race. Divisions: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over. Iowa State Fair prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female winners overall. An awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of the race at the Grandstand.
1 Mile Walk Awards
Participants in the 1 mile walk will be eligible for door prizes.
Chase the Cow Kids' Run Awards
All kids will receive a participation ribbon and a t-shirt.
Refreshments
Water will be available along the race route. Post-race refreshments (including corndogs, beer and Fair Squares) will be available at the Grandstand.
