2011 Galveston Beach 5K & Eco Duathlon:
Course Information:
Galveston Beach 5K
The race will start at Stewart Beach Park, East of the park pavilion, with the 1st mile taking our competitors from Stewart Beach Park to Seawall Blvd and then to East Beach Drive. The second mile starts about 100 yards before the entrance to Palissade Palms, with the U-turn inside the Beachtown development. The third mile will have the runners trace back the run to the entrance of the park. The final 300 yards end with a dash for the finish line in Stewart Beach. Galveston Eco Duathlon
The first leg of the race is a 5K run-and-back course Starting at Stewart Beach, with the u-turn pass Palissade Palms.
The second leg is a 20K bike ride starting at the 4th Street park entrance, across from the Emerald high rise. It follows Seawall Blvd to to Apffell Drive and East Beach St, until the turn around at the center of the Beachtown development. The 3rd and final leg is a 5K that follows the first run, but ends with a dash for the finish line in Stewart Beach.
