2010 Contoocook Carry Triathlon:
- The Contoocook Carry Triathlon was first held in 2002, as a gift of the Congoran family, to help build the towns Spirit Skateboard Park.
- This year, our mission is to give 100% of all proceeds directly to Fuel Assistance (through Human Services) for those who might need a little extra help with the coming winter.
Course Information:
The Carry begins from Hopkinton High School with a 2 mile run to the bank of the Contoocook River and a beautiful view of Putney Hill. After putting your boat in the water, youll paddle about a 1 12 miles to the portage, just above the dam and bridge in the Village of Contoocook. You and your boat will portage (you carry, it rides) about 200 yards to return to the river. At the end of the paddle, you can begin the 14 mile bike through the lightly rolling country back to high School.
Directions:
- From points North and South of Hopkinton, take I-89 to exit# 6. Go northbound into Contoocook Village and the stop sign at the fountain.
- Turn left after the fountain and go across the Contoocook River Bridge (a covered railroad bridge will be on your right).
- Bear right after the bridge onto Park Ave. You'll see the Hopkinton High School on your left in approximately 3/4 of a mile.
