The Get
Fit Selma! 2014 5K Run and Community Fun Run is dedicated to the health and
wellness of the people of Selma, Alabama and the surrounding Black-Belt area.
Online and mail-in registration is available. Registrations with fees may also be delivered to McRae-Gaines Learning Center, 2601 Marie Foster Street, Selma, AL 36701.
Make checks payable to McRae-Gaines Learning Center or MGLC.
Race Day registration opens at 6:30 am on race
day in front of the Gymnasium at Wallace Community College Selma, 3000 Earl
Goodwin Parkway, Selma, Alabama.
- The 5K Run starts at 8:00 am
- The Community Fun Run starts at 8:30 am.
- The Little Selmian's Tot Trot starts at 8:45 am.
Course Information:
Race
Course
This 5K race starts on Donitha Griffin Drive
in front of the WCCS Gymnasium. It takes
Earl Goodwin Parkway south to the first Selma Mall entrance (approx. 1 mile),
circle light pole #13 and proceeds back to Earl Goodwin Park, through
subdivisions on the east side of Earl Goodwin Parkway and back to WCCS for the
finish line.
The
1-mile Fun Run / Walk
(starting at 8:30 AM) will be a tour of the WCCS campus.
The courses will be clearly marked with directional signs as well as having volunteers to direct the runners.

Community College Selma is located at 3000 Earl Goodwin Parkway, which is an
extension of Marie Foster St. and/or Range St. The 5K Run will take place in front
of the Wallace Patriot's Baseball Complex which is at the back side of the
campus past the Henry Sanders Technology Building and the Health Sciences
Building http://www.wccs.edu/.

Safety
Runner safety will always be a top priority for our
event.
Roller blades and
pets are not allowed in the 5K Event
Use of personal musical devices is strongly discouraged
at this race.
Use of baby Joggers or strollers is not prohibited but we
encourage participants to start in back of the runners and walkers.
Packet Pickup
All
participants may pick up their race packets on race day at the Wallace
Community College Gymnasium from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.
Awards
Prizes
will be awarded for 1st overall M/F and 1st Master M/F and then by age group in
five-year increments starting with age 14 and under up to 70+.
Bonus Prize
$100
for setting a course record in menʼs or womenʼs divisions.
