Get ready for possibly the most difficult multi-sport event in the world. The Silverback is our signature race involving the completion of three continuous and sequential disciplines: whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and trail running. The kayaking leg will begin at the Tuxedo Hydro-station on the Green River and end at the first bridge on Green River Cove Road; totaling roughly 8 miles and will include the Class V Narrows. Next the competitors will transition to the mountain biking leg that takes place in the rugged Green River Game Lands over roughly 8 miles. Upon completion of the bike leg, racers will then have to run the 8 mile course. This event requires class V kayaking skills combined with technical cross country mountain biking skills and having the endurance to finish with a challenging trail run. This event is entirely self-support.
Course Information:
Kayaking: The kayaking leg of The Silverback will begin at the “Upper Green” put-in right below the Tuxedo Hydro-station. Race will be released in 1 minute intervals. The race will continue down 8 miles of the Green River through the “Upper”, the “Narrows” and 1 mile of the “Lower” Green River. The transition will be at Wilderness Cove Campgrounds, which is one mile below Fish Top and is the most upstream bridge on the Green River. The course will contain class I-V rapids.
Mountain Biking: The mountain bike course will strictly be on Green River Game Lands and include an 8 mile cross country loop over challenging terrain. The course will begin and end at Wilderness Cove Campground.
Trail Running: The trail running leg will be the same loop as the mountain biking course. The course will be roughly 8 miles and will begin and end at Wilderness Cove Campground.
