The Sumner County YMCA - Old Hickory Lake Triathlon
In its 13th year, the Old Hickory Lake Triathlon has a capacity of 448 racers, so don't delay registering for this unique event. The host community - the cities of Hendersonville and Gallatin in beautiful lakeside Sumner County and the partnership of the local triathlon club (HEAT) - make this a wonderful event for all racers. The support is awesome, so expect plenty of course protection by local police and the many volunteer groups. Look for the great finisher medal, cool awards and more!
RACE LIMIT = 448 (capacity is limited by swim area to 1st run transition space)
When: Saturday, June 21
Where: Hendersonville, Tennessee
Race: Sprint – 400 yd swim/1 mile run/12 mile bike/2 mile run
The venue for this event is the Sumner County YMCA. You will swim in a very calm inlet of Old Hickory Lake, run 1 mile from the lake to the transition area, complete your 12 mile bike ride, then run another 2 miles to the finish.
The race transition is actually only 0.6 miles from the swim area. The race finish will be adjacent to the race transition area, which is located at the Sumner County YMCA.
To provide the best transition and finish area the transition is more than a short jog from your swim exit. Thus, you get to experience a non-typical triathlon!
