The Crane Trust's 2nd Annual Buffalo Stampede 5K Trail Run, with added Kids Mile, will be held on historic Shoemaker Island - a beautiful expanse of native Platte River habitat.
Event date is Saturday, July 19, 2014. 5K starts at 8 AM; Kids Mile starts at 8:30 AM.
Early registration fee is $20 for the 5K for registrations received prior to July 1. After July 1, registration is $25. Kids Mile early registration is $12 and $15, respectively.
All 5K entrants will receive a commemorative finisher medal for completing the race. Kids Mile finishers will receive a ribbon. Adult male and female finishers will receive Buffalo Stampede 5K trophies. The Kids Mile winner and runner-up will also receive trophies.
Custom-designed t-shirts will be given to all runners who register prior to July 9. Entrants after July 9, including race-day entrants, will receive shirts while supplies last.
Free hot dog, snacks, and refreshments will be available after the race. You may also enjoy cooling your feet in the waters of the Platte River and exploring our live fish and wildlife exhibits and seeing the baby bison.

Course Information:
Race will be run on mowed prairie grass trails.
Directions:
From Grand Island, take Interstate 80 west to Exit #305, Alda. Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center is directly on the south side of the interstate.
Other Info:
Registration packets may be picked up Friday, July 18, from noon to 7 PM at the nature and visitor center. Race day registrations and packet pick-up will begin at 7 AM, also at the nature and visitor center.
