After your 5K, connect with family and join us for Get Outdoors Day fun at Watkins Mill Historic Site! Tour Watkins’ Home and Woolen Mill. Enjoy 1870s Living History Performers, The Marble Lady, Master Gardeners, Splash Mob, Geocaching, Shutter Bug competition, and Zumba Fitness Party. Fun for youngsters spans 150 years, including a Kids Fun Run, sack races, stick horse rodeo, stilt walking, scavenger hunts, doll making, and nature crafts. Several bands will take the stage for your entertainment during the afternoon. A nice assortment of food will be available at reasonable prices. Watkins Mill Association proactively supports the preservation and living history of Watkins Woolen Mill Historic Site, a unique national treasure. Many structures that Waltus Watkins spent half a century building -- including the family Home and a three-story Woolen Mill -- have been preserved to give Visitors a sense of life in the 1870s. The Association has set aggressive goals to increase Visitors, Volunteers and Members by increasing the quantity of quality Visitor experiences. Proceeds from Association activities, including Get Outdoors Day, will benefit Watkins Mill and help sustain its future.
