Kids, aged 6-14, can participate in a two-day, noncompetitive weekend event for aspiring young triathletes in Pittsburg, Kansas on 5/22 (9am-1pm) & 5/23 (12pm-4pm). The clinic focuses on triathlon preparation, including basic principles, training guidelines, major muscle activities, the biomechanics of swimming, biking and running, safety and equipment needs. A portion of the clinic is devoted to skills training and practice.The triathlon allows the kids to put their skills in action and compete in a safe, friendly multisport environment while still being under the direction of expert coaches and trainers.
Course Information:
DISTANCE BASED ON AGE GROUP
Swim Distances: (50, 100, 200 meters)
Bike Distances: (1 mile, 2miles, 3miles)
Run Distances: (.5miles, 1.0miles, 1.5miles)
Directions:
The event will be held at the Pittsburg, KS. YMCA on May 22nd (triathlon clinic) & May 23rd (youth triathlon), 2010. The clinic will run from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The youth triathlon will run from 12:00pm until 4:00pm. Cost of the event is $30.00. Payment should be made to Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Space is limited and advanced registration is required. Please note that kids should meet specific performance qualifications for their age group in order to participate in the second day of the event.
