Seattle Universitys Masters in Sport Administration and Leadership students will host an indoor try-athlon on Memorial Day. Funds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project which provides awareness and assistance to injured service members.
In addition to donating the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project, participants are encouraged to identify someone they would like to honor at the event. This could include an active, retired, wounded or fallen service member. These names will be collected during registration and at check-in to be included on a memorial banner displayed throughout the duration of Trying For Troops.
Designed to be less strenuous than traditional triathlons, Trying For Troops focuses on participants try-ing a triathlon instead of competing each interval in an intense, competitive environment. The event consists of a 10-minute timed pool swim, 10-minute timed spin bike and 10-minute timed treadmill run. In between each, there will be a 5-minute transition period.
There are approximately 600,000 veterans and 64,000 active military members in the state of Washington. Come participate in this event and honor those who have served our country. Everyone must start at some point to grow and excel. This try-athlon is a great opportunity to try and benefit a noble charity.
