Category-redefining events to take place in Bend, Ore. on Sept. 20; Registration now open
Since its inception in 2011, Leadman Tri provides athletes with an ultra-distance event that places more emphasis on the low-impact cycle and swim stages, and less on the higher-impact run portion. Both professional and age group divisions are offered for all distances, along with a relay category.
Set for September 20, Leadman Tri Bend 250-kilometer features a course with a 5-kilometer swim in idyllic Lake Cultus, a 223-kilometer bike around dormant volcano Mount Bachelor, and a two-loop 22K running course around Tetherow Golf Course with a dramatic finish in NorthWest Crossing. The Leadman Tri Bend 125-kilometer course includes a 2.5-kilometer swim, 106-kilometer bike ride, and a 12-kilometer run. New this year is the Leadman 85 that will take place at Leadman Tri Bend. The new distance features a 1-kilometer swim, 75-kilometer bike and 8-kilometer run. Athletes who finish the race within the allotted time limit will receive the coveted Leadman Tri Belt Buckle.

Swim Voyage Across the Cultus
Leadman 125 | 2.5-kilometer swim Leadman 250 | 5-kilometer swim
LeadmanTri Bend starts with a brisk swim in Cultus Lake. A deep, mountain lake at the base of Mount Cultus, it is filled with crystal clear water that is expected to be in the low 60s on race day. The 125 course will be one 2.5K lap along the shoreline, while the 250 course will consist of two laps for a total distance of 5K. Swimmers on the 250 course will exit the water after lap one and pass an aid station before returning to the water for lap 2.

One of the most scenic and challenging courses in the sport of triathlon, the LeadmanTri Bend course offers spectacular views of the summit, several mountain lakes and the shores of the Deschutes River. The 150 course makes a partial lap around Mt. Bachelor via the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway. The 250 course climbs over the Bachelor pass not once but twice, with 1.5 laps around Mt. Bachelor. The 250 bike finishes with a 15-mile descent into Bend with one last steep climb up to Tetherow Golf Club and T2 at Summit High School.

A spectacular rolling course featuring one loop for the 125 course and two loops for the 250 course around Tetherow Golf Club with a dramatic finish in the heart of NorthWest Crossing. There is plenty for your family and friends to do at the finish line festival (farmers market, live music, wine bar plus the Deschutes Brewery Beer Garden).
Course Cut-offs
The swim course will close 2.5 hours after start. The bike course will close at 7 p.m. All athletes must clear the course by 11 p.m.
