The YWCA's Indoor Triathlons are a great way to stay focused during the cold Minnesota winters. If this is your first triathlon, you will find a supportive, encouraging environment. For more seasoned athletes, these indoor events are a great addition to your training regimen!
Choose from three individual distances or a relay: Mini-Sprint: 400yd swim/8mi bike/1mi run Sprint: 500yd swim/10mi bike/2mi run Mega-sprint: 600yd swim/12mi bike/5k (3.1mi run) Relay: mega-sprint distance, one person each leg
Start times for the different heats are between 7:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. The swim is in a 6-lane, 25yd pool with two triathletes splitting a lane. The bike is on the YWCA's spin-style Keiser bike. Everyone goes the same distance. 12.0, 10.0 or 8.0 "keiser" miles depending on which event. Keiser miles are shorter than actual miles. The run is in the Minneapolis Sports Center on a indoor track (8 laps/mile).
