The Super Man Triathlon and Duathlon are open to men only. The day after our Women's Triathlon Festival this male only event features unique divisions and awards for men who enjoy triathlons. After the race we will have a hot post race meal to enjoy, plus you will receive a custom Super Man Triathlon/Duathlon tech-tee race shirt, an athlete goody bag, swim cap, and free post-race athlete massage.

The Super Man Triathlon is to celebrate the ordinary heroes of every day life.  The Super Man Triathlon would like ALL athletes to dress as their favorite super hero; whether that be Batman, Spiderman, or your local fire department Captain or city police Chief please come dressed in a super hero costume that you feel best pays tribute the Super Men in your life. There will be Awards for the Best and Most Creative costumes. First prize in each category will win FIVE Free Triathlons of their choice with TBF Racing in 2015. Second and third prizes will also be awarded in each category: Best Costume and Most Creative Costume.

Divisions and Awards:

Divisions for the Super Man Duathlon and Triathlon will be: 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50+ and Clydesdale (225 lbs+).There will be awards three deep in each of these divisions for the Triathlon and Duathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams overall for Duathlon and Triathlon.

Equipment:

Expected water temperature for Rancho Seco Park Lake will be 72-76 degrees. Wetsuits are optional. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc.. are not allowed.

Competitor Goodies:

Included for each competitor is a Super Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon custom tech-tee race shirt, XTERRA swim cap, athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts and other product samples.

Post Race Athlete Food:

Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Course Information:

Swim - The race starts from the beach in with a 400 yard mile swim from the beach area. The swim course will be a triangular course in Rancho Seco Lake marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be approximately 68-74 degrees. Wetsuits are allowed. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach and on a grassy path to the transition area located in the parking area.

Bike - The bike course is 8-miles. You will exit the transition area and then mount your bike. From there you will exit the park and make a right hand turn on Hwy 104, making a U-turn at the turn around point and returning to the park. Please be careful while on the road. Riders must stay to the right at all times! Riders must not draft other riders: You must maintain at least THREE bike lengths at all times behind the rider in front of you, and you MUST ride single file while on the Highway. Passing is allowed in a timely manner when it is safe to do so. After passing return to the right side of the road and continue to ride safely. Failure to do so will result in a drafting penalty or disqualification. Crossing the centerline at ANY time will also result in disqualification. Proceed to the turn around on Hwy 104 and return to the park. Traffic has the right-of-way on the road so ride CAREFULLY. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

Run - The run course begins directly outside the transition area and is a 2 mile out-and-back course on fire roads and trails within the park. There will be two aid stations with water and electrolyte beverage, plus energy gels on the run course. One at the start of the run, and one at the turn-around point on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.
