Welcome to Challenge New Albany, the third U.S. event of the globally expanding Challenge Family series of events. Challenge New Albany has an entire weekend of racing for the entire family. The race weekend gets started on Saturday, July 26 with aJunior Challenge Kidz Triathlon and the Challenge Womens Triathlon all in downtown New Albany, Ohio. The Challenge New Albany weekend culminates with Sundays Half and Olympic distance triathlons featuring a unique point-to-point course that starts at Alum Creek State Park and finishes in downtown New Albany.

Course Information:

The Challenge Womens Triathlon is the perfect event for women who want to compete in their first triathlon in a friendly, non-competitive setting. The Challenge Womens Triathlon features a beginner-friendly 250-yard serpentine* swim in Plain Township Aquatic Center followed by a 7-mile bike ride on a traffic-controlled course through the beautiful New Albany community and finishing with a 2 mile run with the finish on Market Street in downtown New Albany.

*Serpentine = swimming down & back one lane to the wall, then under the lane rope, and down & back the next lane, repeating for 10 full 25 yard pool lengths (250 total yards).

The Challenge Womens Triathlon Course Preview will be held from 5:30-6:00pm on Friday, July 25 at the New Albany High School. The preview features a walkthrough of the swim, bike and run courses and transition area.

The Challenge Womens Triathlon will feature a single person time trial start every 3-5 seconds based on your estimated 250-yard swim time.

Registration and Packet Pick Up for the Challenge Womens Triathlon will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, July 25 at the New Albany High School during the Expo (7600 Fodor Rd. New Albany, OH 43054). The race starts at 7am. Timing Chip Pick Up will be from 5:30-6:45am on Saturday, July 26.

The top three in all age groups, Athena, Mountain Bike, and all relay team divisions will receive awards.
