Introducing the inaugural Silicon Labs Sunshine Run! Coordinated by members of the Young Men's Business League of Austin, this new event will bring the community together to have fun, promote an active lifestyle, and raise money for their worthy benefactor the Austin Sunshine Camps.

With both 5K and 10K timed/untimed options, the Silicon Labs Sunshine Run is the perfect race for both casual runners and serious racers! Just for entering, you'll get the official inaugural

shirt a way to remember the birth of what's bound to be an Austin tradition for years to come. Competitors listen up these are certified courses and there are cash prizes for the winners!

And let's not forget about the kids and dogs! Kids are welcome to sign up for the 5K or 10K, but if they aren't quite ready, they can run the Kids K. Yes, your dog can join in the competition as well. The winner will be titled the Fastest Dog in Austin and will awarded a tasty treat.

Course Information:

The certified 10K course will start at the corner of Riverside Dr and S 1st St. Runners will cross the 1st St bridge, hang a left on Cesar Chavez, veer off at Austin High School to run under Mopac, turn down Lake Austin Blvd for a few strides, then head back to a cheering crowd at the start/finish line. The 5K will follow the same course, but loop back when they reach Austin High School. The Kid's K will be a fast, fun 1K race and will start and end at the start/finish line.

The Silicon Labs Sunshine Run benefits the Young Men's Business League whose main endeavor in money and time is to support the Austin Sunshine Camps with locations at Zilker Park and on Lake Travis. The Young Men's Business League of Austin, a 100% volunteer organization, was established in 1913 and is one of the oldest and most respected social service organizations in Austin. The Austin Sunshine Camps were established in 1928 and have since provided services to over 48,000 of Austin's at risk and underprivileged youth. The kids are provided with week long summer camp programs, year round tutoring and mentoring, and leadership training for their future careers.
