Stearns Race Timing, LLC presents "Kids Tri Lemonade" held at Craighead Forest Park located in Jonesboro Arkansas.
Each triathlete will receive a fun T-shirt and finishers medal. Awards will be awarded to to the top finishers in each age group.
The Kids Tri Lemonade allows young athletes age 5 to 14 a fun and safe way to experience the excitement of this multi-sport event. This will be a morning of friendly competition and physical activity that can lead to a lifetime of fitness. A Triathletes age group is determine by the age the athlete will be on December 31, 2010. This event is designed for young athletes only. Parents may not accompany their child on any portion of the race and MUST adhere to roped off areas or their child will be disqualified.
The Kids Tri Lemonade will consist of swimming, followed by a transition to cycling, and then a transition to running. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Each wave will completely finish the swim, bike and run before the next wave enters the water. This will allow parents and spectators to catch all of the races. Participants do not need to be in a club to participate in the triathlon, but must be able to safely participate in all three sports to compete.
It is the responsibility of the parent and child to review the course prior to the event. Maps will be available in the race packet. There will be visual directions given prior to the swimming portion, and a "rabbit" will be guiding the athletes on the cycling and running course. If you pick up your packet on Friday you will have a chance to pre ride and pre run the course.
The cost of the Kids Tri Lemonade is $25.00 through June 12, 2010. $30.00 after June 12. Online registration is available up to Friday June 18 at 5:00 PM, mail in registration must be postmarked no later than June 15, 2010 Race day registration will be $35.00. There will be no refunds of registrations.
The entry includes the cost of the required yearly youth membership to USA Triathlon. Memberships will be available for purchase on race day. USAT membership cards must be presented at the time of race packet pick-up.
Race packet pick-up will be available at Craighead Forest Park on Friday June 18, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. You are highly encouraged to pick-up your packet on Friday. Packet pick-up will resume on Saturday morning at 6:00 am, with the transition area opening at 6:30 am. Check-in/registration will close promptly at 7:30 am, and the transition area closing at 7:45 am. First Race will begin promptly at 8:00 am.
