The First Annual Havre de Grace Triathlon to benefit the Maritime Museum Presented By TEAM Chesapeake/Upper Chesapeake Health is being held on Sunday, May 2nd at 8AM in the shadow of the Concord Point Lighthouse. This is a sprint distance Triathlon in a beautiful, waterfront setting on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in downtown Havre de Grace. This is a true nonprofit event with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum! There are festivals in town the same day as the Triathlon, and outstanding food and lodging available within walking distance of anywhere in town. We encourage you to explore Havre de Grace after your Tri!

Course Information:

The Course:

The transition area is a beautiful peninsula situated behind the promenade between the lighthouse and the HdG Maritime Museum directly on the Chesapeake Bay.

The swim portion of the event will be held in the Chesapeake Bay and will cover a distance of 750 meters. The swim will be a wet start as we enter the water from the floating portion of the transient pier. With average water temps in the 50's at this time of year, a wetsuit is strongly recommended!

The 15 mile bike portion of the event will expand into the surrounding rolling countryside of Harford County. The bike course is primarily flat with one significant clime lasting approx 1/2 mile and one long, steep 2 mile descent.

Finally, the run will be a 3.3 mile "lap" of historic Downtown Havre de Grace.
