Description:

2014 Club Northwest Indoor Triathlon

Swim
The competitors will start in the water at the shallow end of the pool. They must be touching the edge before the start signal. A stop watch will time the 15 minute swim. After 15 minutes a stop signal will be given (a whistle) the competitors will be allowed to exit the pool at the nearest side, ladder, or stairs if they wish. The distance they swim will be recorded onto a distance card with the competitors name, wave #, and station #. After the swimmers have exited the pool, and their distances have been recorded, the next wave will begin. The following wave will start within 2 minutes after the previous wave ends.

Swim Bike Transition
The competitors will have 10 minutes to change, and move to the biking leg. The distance cards & stop watch for that wave will also be moved to the biking leg. At the end of the swim the stop watch is NOT stopped. The watch will continue running to time the 10 min transition/rest. This means the official at the biking leg will give the start signal when the watch reads 25 minutes.

Bike
The competitors may get on the bike, but may not begin to cycle until the start signal is given. The same stop watch will continue to run and time the 15 minutes. The stop signal will be given when the watch reads 40 minutes. The competitors will then be allowed to get off the bike. The distance they cycled will be recorded onto the distance card. After the wave is finished & the distances are recorded the bikes will be reset & made ready for the next wave. The bike official will have approximately 2 minutes to do this before the next wave must start.

Bike Run Transition
The competitors will have 5 minutes to move to the running leg. The distance cards & stop watch will again be moved with the wave. At the end of the biking leg the stop watch is NOT stopped. The watch will continue running to time the 5 minute transition/rest. This means the official at the running leg will give the start signal when the watch reads 45 minutes.

Run
The competitors may get on the treadmill, but may not begin to run, or start the treadmill until the start signal is given. The same stop watch will continue to run and time the 15 minutes. The stop signal will be given when the watch reads 1 hour. The competitors will then be allowed to get off the treadmill. The distance they ran will be recorded onto the distance card. After the wave is finished & the distances are recorded the treadmills will be reset and made ready for the next wave. The run official will have approximately 2 minutes to do this before the next wave must start. The completed distance cards will then be taken to the scoring official.
