2014 Iron Horse Triathlon:

Come join us for the Second Annual Iron Horse Triathlon at Lake End Park in Morgan City, Louisiana. We welcome first time Triathletes or experienced racers looking for fast times on smooth roads.

We are planning a fun filled family event with plenty of great food, cold beverages, music, bounce houses and more...

This year we will have an elite wave. To be eligible you must have placed in the top 3 of your age group in the last 12 months.

Stick around after the race for the party, awards ceremony, and door prizes.
You must be present to win!

The race begins at 7:30 June 29, 2014.
Course Information:

The 400 yard open water swim in Lake Palourde will start at the pier adjacent to transition.

The 14 mile bike course is an out and back on LA70. The course is flat and fast on newly paved roads.

The run is 2 miles out and back with a short loop through the shaded area of Lake End Park finishing back at the transition area.

Other Info:

All proceeds will be donated to the Blazeman Foundation whose mission is to raise awareness and the necessary funds for the treatment and eventual cure of ALS.... So others may live.

Our race will be chip timed to ensure accurate and dependable results. The results will be posted near transition as soon as the first few athletes begin crossing the finish line.

Packet pickup will be at the race site on Saturday from 12 - 5 and on race morning from 6 - 7:00.

This race is perfect for spectators! Your family and friends will have an unobstructed view of the entire swim from the elevated powerboat judges stand.

The transition area will also be centrally located near the judges stand so you will be able to see your favorite athlete swim, bike, run, transition and finish the race all from a single shaded location.

We will have bounce houses to keep the kids occupied during the race.

We plan to have several open water swim practices before the race. Be sure to bring your bike. After the swim practice we will have a no drop ride on the 14 mile bike course.

For beginners we will show you how to set up you transition area and then demonstrate how to perform a swim to bike transition and a bike to run transition.
