2014 Roanoke Canal Half Marathon & 8k:
The Tar River Running Company invites you to the 5th annual running of the Roanoke Canal Half Marathon and 8k.
This unique race will take runners on the easy-to-run Roanoke Canal Trail taking in great views of the Roanoke Rapids Lake, the historic bulkhead, the old canal, the aqueduct, and the Roanoke River.
We believe in providing "big city quality" with "small town charm." We hope you will join us on race day. We will bend over backwards to give you the best race experience possible.
Course Information:
Flat and scenic run on the Roanoke Canal Trail. A mixture of crushed cinder, foot paths through grass fields, and a little single track too!
Directions:
Minutes off of I-95, the central location of Roanoke Rapids draws a large, fun, and competitive group of runners. Roanoke Rapids is only 90 minutes from Richmond, Raleigh, Greenville, and Suffolk. All four cities are known for their base of runners.
