2014 Dunedin Rotary Sprint Triathlon on Honeymoon Island:
11th Annual Dunedin Rotary Sprint Triathlon The Dunedin Triathlon is one of the most popular races in triathlon from newbies to amateur elite/pros so this is your chance to become a triathlete in 2014.
Known for it's more shallow water swim just off the beach of Honeymoon Island, the Dunedin Triathlon attracts many new triathletes who might have been intimidated by more aggressive off shore swim courses.
The two lap 6 mile bike course (for a total of 12 miles), allows you to get acclimated to the course so you are comfortable to give it your ALL on the second bike lap.
The final run portion of the Dunedin Triathlon features beautiful portions of the shady hard packed nature trail of north Honeymoon Island.
Treat yourself to this outstanding experience. The race is of course a benefit to the Dunedin Rotary Club who in turn hands over 100% of the race proceeds to service projects which include sending deserving students to college.
The race begins at 7:20 with our youth wave of age 16 and under males and females who will swim 400 yards, bike 6 miles, and run 1 mile to be greeted at the finish line with the same awesome finisher's medal handed to all of the day's finishers.
The first wave of the regular sprint race begins at 7:30 a.m. just after the youth have exited T2 with the elite wave.
We'll see you on Honeymoon Island, Sunday, June 8, 2014.
