Triathlon : Swim 200 yards, Bike 3.9 miles, Run 1 mile |
This is a great race to start off the Tri Season at Suffolk Community College Grant Campus.
Pool Swim: -The Race will begin in the pool as a staggered start with 5 seconds between each competitor. The athletes will swim a total of 200 yards/8 laps for ages 11-14 (or 100 Yards/4 Laps for ages 7-10) in a snake swim. Passing is allowed. When finished athletes will step out of the pool and run to the transition area on a carpeted surface.
Bike: - Bike route is on the Suffolk Campus we will have volunteers along the course to ensure the safest ride conditions for our Youth. Once the athletes have left transition, they will ride loops of the campus . This is a fast and flat course. There will be traffic officers at both intersections, and volunteers at the bike in/out locations. Each lap will be marked and coned; however, it is the athletes responsibility to ensure they complete all laps before going into the finishing turn.
Run: -The run 1 Mile on a flat and fast field and Surfaced Track. The run will be very well marked with volunteers at each lap/turn. Upon completion of the final lap, participants will run through the Finish Chute in the grassy area.
