This is the 34thyear for this race for our company, Final Stretch, Inc. We are looking forward to the Waseca Triathlon in 2014! The 1/3 Ironman Triathlon has a 1 mile Swim, 34 mile Bike and an 8.8 mile Run. The Sprint Triathlon has a ¼ mile Swim, 14 mile Bike and a 4.4 mile Run. You may race as an Individual, or as a Team of 2 or 3 people in both events. These races will get you out in the country where you can see plenty of rural Minnesota. You will start at the beautiful Clear Lake Park.All participants will receive a technical shirt, along with several goodies. We will also provide a great post-race meal for all triathletes! Gear West will be giving away a wet suit as well as a Gear West Gear Bag vauled at $625!
All participants will receive a tech shirt by BornFit. Mens and Ladies sizes.
1/3 Iron Course Maps
Note: The swim course will be marked with several large orange buoys and turnaround points will be marked as well. We have 8 lifeguards, several kayaks and pontoon boats to support you
The bike course is well marked with mile markers every 3 miles, all turns are marked with markings on the pavement, arrow signs on posts will mark turns. Additionally, course will be marked with traffic warning signs for traffic. Course is open to the general public traffic. Stay to the right and pass when safe. There will be one water bottle and HEED replenishment drink bottle distribution point at the midway point of the 1/3 Iron course.
Run course is mostly isolated from traffic. It will be marked at every mile. Spray chalk will mark the path. There will be several aid stations on the run course serving water and HEED replenishment drink. 1/3 Iron distance course is 2 laps.

There is plenty of parking on the streets around Clear Lake Park in Waseca. There will be no parking in the Clear Lake Parking lot. Directions to Waseca are designated on the Directions/Parking link.
The swim course is done by waves in 3 minute intervals, first the 1/3 Ironman triathletes, and then Sprint triathletes. The bike portion is on mostly flat country paved roads. The run is also on fairly level terrain, mostly run on paved paths. Everyone will be chip timed, using ChampionChip timing by Final Time, Inc., with split times also recorded.
The race will be timed by Final Time using ChampionChip Timing Technology. The 1/3 Iron Course distance will be a part of the Tri Minnesota Series.
In 2013, Gear West Bike & Triathlon will provide prizes and incentives for Tri Minnesota Series participants including $400 in gift certificates at each series race. Click here to checkout more about this exciting program.
Amateurelites will be elgible for age group awards & overall awards. Amateurelites will have their own wave which in most cases is or will be, the first wave of the race.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers for all age groups:19 & under, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 44 – 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70+
